Check Out the New CavemanEating.com Website and Forum!

I'm so excited! I've put up a new multi-page Caveman Eating website with articles, links, a Caveman Eating Discussion Forum and more. Check it out at CavemanEating.com.

The forum is something I'm especially excited about. It's a great way to share your experiences following the Caveman Diet, ask questions, get feedback, and share recipes and testimonials. I'll be reading your posts and adding my own.

To check out the Caveman Eating Forum, go to CavemanEating.com and click on the link at the side that says "Forum."

Health Hint

What is "Silent Inflammation?"

When you think of inflammation, you may think of having swelling and pain. This is one type of inflammation, the kind you can see and feel.

There's actually another kind of inlammation that you can't see and feel. Researchers call this "silent inflammation."

Silent inflammation is low-level chronic inflammation. You can't necessarily feel it, but it comes out in other ways. Below are some of the symptoms and diseases that are related to silent inflammation:

- Heart disease
- Cancer
- Diabetes
- Arthritis
- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
- PMS
- Chronic illnesses
- Reduced immune function
- Migraines
- Fibromyalgia
- Autoimmune diseases
- Allergies
- Asthma
- Acne
- Most diseases

What Causes Silent Inflammation?

Silent inflammation is caused by having an inbalance in hormones called "eicosanoids." There are two major catagories of eicosanoids:

1. pro-inflammatory eicosanoids
2. anti-inflammatory eicosanoids

Our bodies need both types of eicosanoids to be in balance and stay healthy.

However, because of our modern-day high-calorie, high-carb diets, stress and lack of exercise, most of us today produce too many pro-inflammatory eicosanoids and not enough anti-inflammatory eicosanoids. This leads to silent inflammation.

How Can You Reduce Silent Inflammation?

Silent inflammation can be treated by rebalancing your eicosanoid hormones. One of the best ways to do this is through your diet.

Following the Caveman Diet will help you get your hormones back in balance and reduce silent inflammation, leading to a significant improvement in your health and energy.

To get started following the Caveman Diet, you can purchase the book here: Buy The Caveman Diet Book

The book explains everything you need to know to begin following the Caveman Diet right away, including recipes, tips and how to add other foods you enjoy to the diet.

Reader Feedback

Testimonial

Here's a testimonial from a Tracy's Newsletter reader who began following the Caveman Diet recently:

"Hi Tracy,

I really like the new program...the CMD [Caveman Diet]!!  Have lost about 4 lbs in 6 days... really enjoy having the protein with vegies and olive oil and lemon, etc for BKFST and everything... I just feel better... still love my coffee though.... for now,"

Feedback from Last Week's Newsletter

I received great emails from readers in response to the article in last week's newsletter, "Using Your Mind to Banish Food Cravings." Here are two of the responses:

One Reader Is Eating Better for Her Pregnancy...

"Hi Tracy,

I've always had excellent blood pressure, so I've never had to cut back on salt, and I'm finding it even more difficult than cutting back on sugar!

The swelling is very painful at night, so this sounds like a great strategy- I'll try to concentrate on how awful it is to be awake in the middle of the night when I want those chips (or bread, as I learned in the last newsletter!)."

From Another Reader...

"Your thoughts on food prejudices ring very true to me. I subconsciously practice this method from time to time and now that you've voiced it so well for me, I'm certain I'll do it more often. I've also noticed this process in my own children, unfortunately in regards to healthier foods most of the time

My guess is that one can use the fostering prejudice method as a means to make all sorts of positive changes (i.e. I hate polluted air and how it makes me feel. It feels better to breath clean air, so I can help myself by driving less and polluting less!)

Thanks for sharing!"
