A Tracy's Newsletter reader emailed me recently and said he was doing well on the Caveman Diet and would like to know how to eat Mexican food on it.
There are many Caveman Mexican food options. Here are a few:
1. Taco Salad. Order the taco salad at a Mexican restaurant. Ask for no beans, rice, chips or sour cream. Guacamole, meat and salsa are fine. Then have a little juice for your carb or eat a piece of fruit after you leave.
2. Fajitas. You can order fajitas and ask to switch out all the starches (rice, beans, tortillas) with lettuce and tomato or whatever other vegetables they offer. Once again, don't forget to have a little juice or fruit for your carbs.
3. Mexican Food, Home-Style. To make your own Mexican dishes, spice up lean ground beef or ground turkey with South of the Border spices, then eat it with a salad or in lettuce wraps. Have fruit for dessert.
I've posted my own recipe for a Caveman Turkey Taco Salad in the Caveman Eating Forum under "Recipes."
To see the recipe, join the forum and look in the "Recipes" topic. The article above explains how to join the forum.
Happy Eating!
